BetSmart Kenya operates as an editorial publication that earns revenue through affiliate partnerships with the betting operators we review. This page exists to make that relationship completely transparent.
How affiliate revenue works
When you click a "Visit operator" link on our Site, a tracking cookie attributes your visit to BetSmart Kenya. If you subsequently register an account at the operator and meet the affiliate programme's qualifying criteria (typically a first deposit or a minimum stake volume), the operator pays us a commission. The commission can be a one-off payment, a percentage of net gaming revenue (NGR) from your activity, or a combination.
You are not charged anything additional. The commission comes out of the operator's marketing budget.
What this affects — and what it doesn't
What it does not affect: editorial scoring. Our scoring methodology is published openly on our How We Rate page, scores are produced by our editorial team independently, and the commercial team has no ability to override them. We have downgraded or excluded operators that did not meet our threshold despite paying competitive commission rates.
What it could affect, and how we mitigate it: the universe of operators we review. We tend to review operators with established affiliate programmes because we have access to their tracking infrastructure. Smaller or newer operators without affiliate programmes may be under-represented. We mitigate this by accepting unsolicited operator submissions (see our contact page) and adding qualified operators to our review rotation regardless of commercial relationship.

The list above is updated when relationships change. We do not have any ownership stake in, nor do we receive non-cash benefits (gifts, sponsored trips, equity) from any operator we review.
How to opt out
If you would prefer to register at an operator without our affiliate tracking, simply visit the operator's site directly rather than clicking through one of our links. You will get the same product, the same bonus (in most cases), and we will not earn commission from your registration.
Why we publish this
Affiliate relationships are standard across betting comparison sites globally. What is less standard is openly disclosing them and explaining how they work. We think readers should know how their information sources are funded — particularly when those sources make recommendations about where to spend money.
