How we tested
Each operator on this list was tested over a minimum of 90 days starting in January 2026.
Testing involved depositing KSh 5,000 of our own money via M-Pesa, placing real bets across
sports and casino products, and timing withdrawals from initiation to M-Pesa receipt.
We also checked each operator's licence on the Gambling Regulatory Authority's public
register, contacted customer support during peak hours (8–10pm Saturdays) to test response
times, and reviewed bonus terms for the welcome offer at sign-up against what was actually
applied to the account.
What "best" means in this ranking
We don't think there's one universally "best" betting site — different bettors want
different things. Our ranking weights what we believe matters most to a typical Kenyan
bettor in 2026:
- Licensing & safety (25%) — Is the operator GRA-licensed? Is the licence current?
- Payment speed (20%) — How fast do M-Pesa and Airtel Money withdrawals actually arrive?
- Product depth (20%) — Sportsbook coverage, casino library, Aviator availability.
- Bonus value (15%) — Headline bonus size weighted by wagering requirements and validity.
- Mobile experience (10%) — Speed, navigability, and stability of the mobile site.
- Customer support (10%) — Response times, language coverage, and resolution quality.
Our full scoring methodology shows the sub-criteria within each
category and how scores roll up to the headline rating.
Licensed operators — verified against the GRA register
Every operator we recommend with a Kenyan licence is listed below with its current GRA
bookmaker licence number, verified against the
Gambling
Regulatory Authority's public licensed-operators register. Six of our eight ranked
operators hold current GRA bookmaker licences. Betwinner operates under a Curaçao licence
only. Betway's licence status was not verifiable on the GRA register at our most recent
check — we have flagged this in their individual review and paused our recommendation
accordingly.
What changed since our last update
Three things shifted between our Q4 2025 ranking and this update. First, JuiceBet displaced
Betika at #1 — payment speeds have converged across the GRA-licensed operators, and on
product depth and integration quality JuiceBet now leads. Second, 1xBet's wagering
requirements tightened from 3x to 5x, which knocked the net value of its bonus despite
the larger headline number. Third, Betway dropped to #7 pending verification of their
current GRA licence status — they were not visible on the regulator's published register
at our most recent check.
